I liked the Hostal so was happy to take one of the days I had in hand here. I spent a couple of hours wandering around the village (down jacket needed) but otherwise spent washing clothes and sleeping. I’d had cramp last night, strange after so many days on the road, but perhaps the recent days have been too easy.
Able to look down from the cemeterio to the area I was yesterday
Fuente del Arco. I climb the hill behind to start with tomorrow. 750m only.
I can leave early tomorrow and that is probably the best plan, although it’s not due to be too hot, although it’s due to be much hotter in Sevilla which is close by.
I uploaded the rest of my track logs and found that yesterday’s had not recorded at all. I knew that the ascent was not recording and that should have alerted me. Annoying, but not unusual, which it should be.
Very picturesque area
We are not alone in noticing. At the weekend there were some mountain bikers, and some walkers. There is a pilgrimage route through the village. I’m pretty sure at least one walker was a pilgrim, as she had a heavy steel tipped stick, which looked more of a penance than a help. Could be useful for varlets or loose dogs though.
If you read this comment on time, tomorrow have a look at ermita de la Virgen de Ara. It’s wonderful!
I was at the ermita when I saw your post. I had been taking photographs but had not thought to go inside. Unfortunately I did not have internet. I thought you must be suggesting to take the sendero to the ermita. I was surprised that the road I was on led there as I had seen the sendero sign post and wondered why the route did not use it.
Annoying about the upload 🙁
Hope you have a good day today!
